Prospects for interregional cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran discussed

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan Fariddin Nasriev visited the Iranian province of Hamadan
During the visit, a bilateral meeting was held with the new Governor of Hamadan, Hamid Melanuri. The talks were also attended by Deputy Governor Said Mojtaba Hassi, and the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Rahim Mortezaei, from the Iranian side.
The parties discussed ways to elevate interregional cooperation between the two countries in various sectors, including trade and economy, investment, tourism, and cultural and humanitarian relations.
The Governor noted that in recent years, thanks to the political will of the leaders of both countries, Uzbek-Iranian relations have reached a new level, with strengthened interregional cooperation, particularly between Hamadan and Bukhara.
He also emphasized that the Iranian side is keen to develop relations with Uzbekistan in the fields of trade, economy, and tourism, and expressed readiness to implement projects aimed at further increasing mutual trade volumes.
It is worth noting that from February 12-15, 2024, a delegation led by the Deputy Hokim of Bukhara Region, Botirjon Shahriyorov, visited Hamadan.
