Tourism potential of Uzbekistan presented in Tehran

Within the framework of the 18th Tehran international tourism exhibition, a presentation of the tourism potential of Uzbekistan was held
The event was attended by the Minister of Cooperation, Labor and Social Protection of Iran, the Governor of Khuzestan , Advisor to the Minister of Health, Chairman of the Medical Tourism Association, as well as heads and representatives of more than 100 leading Iranian tourism companies.
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan Fariddin Nasriev, presenting the possibilities of the tourism sector of our country, noted that in recent years it has significantly developed.
It was noted that reforms in this area are receiving recognition from the world community, as evidenced by the holding of the 25th session of the General Conference of the World Tourism Organization in 2023 in Samarkand, assigning the status of the tourist capital of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to the city of Khiva in 2024, and the status of the tourist capital of the Economic Cooperation Organization to the city of Shakhrisabz. It was emphasized that the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference will be held in Samarkand in 2025.
The diplomat also spoke about various international festivals held in our country, in particular the Sharq Taronalari festival, the art of maqom and bakhshi, the folklore and dance festivals Buyuk Ipak Yo'li and Lazgi, the Tashkent International Film Festival and other cultural events.
Professor of the University of Tehran Bahman Akbari, who spoke at the presentation, especially noted that the development of close cooperation with Uzbekistan is one of the priorities of Iran's foreign policy. Cooperation in the field of tourism plays an important role in this process. He called on Iran's leading tourism companies to further strengthen cooperation in this area.
