Iran, Uzbekistan eager to strengthen cultural and tourism ties

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Fariddin Nasriev held a meeting with the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Iran Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister for Cultural Heritage Ali Dorabi, Deputy Minister of Tourism Anoushirvan Mohseni, Head of the International Cooperation Department Mohammad Ghasemi, Responsible Officer of the Department for Eurasian Countries Peymaneh Ghafouri from the Iranian side, and Second Secretary of the Embassy Elbek Yuldashev and Attaché Dilmurod Makhmudov from the Uzbek side.
The interlocutors noted with satisfaction that in recent years, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran has been developing in many areas.
According to the Minister, the President of Iran pays special attention to the development of cooperation with our country in the field of tourism, in particular, increasing the mutual flow of tourists.
The meeting also discussed the creation of the Uzbek-Iranian Joint Committee on Tourism and the expansion of cooperation within the framework of UNESCO.
In conclusion, the Iranian side invited representatives of the tourism industry of our country to take part in the 18th International Tourism Exhibition, which is planned to be held from February 11 to 14 this year in Tehran.
