At the meeting in the Senate, issues of bilateral cooperation within the framework of the "Iran-Uzbekistan" inter-parliamentary group were discussed

Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbaeva, received a delegation from Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, led by Javad Nikbin, Chairperson of the "Iran-Uzbekistan" inter-parliamentary friendship group
During the meeting, Javad Nikbin emphasized that, thanks to the positive transformations and large-scale reforms carried out in recent years in Uzbekistan, as well as the wise foreign policy of the President of the Republic, a spirit of friendship and cooperation is steadily growing across the region.
The parties also noted that, based on the political will and joint efforts of the leaders of both countries, multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran has been developing dynamically in recent years and has reached a qualitatively new level.
Particular attention was paid to further enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation and strengthening parliamentary ties between the two countries. It was noted that in recent years, inter-parliamentary contacts have become more active, with regular dialogue and reciprocal visits by parliamentary leaders contributing significantly to the deepening of bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the importance of expanding cooperation in the areas of security, trade and economy, investment, transport, and tourism was emphasized. The parties also underlined the need to establish robust parliamentary oversight over the implementation of agreements reached at the level of heads of state and government.
At the same time, an exchange of views took place on the possibilities of exchanging experience with Iran in the field of medicine and nanotechnology, as well as using Iranian ports for Uzbekistan's access to the sea.
The parties also discussed the establishment of interregional ties between Uzbekistan and Iran in the cultural, humanitarian, economic, and social spheres.
The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to enhance bilateral cooperation aimed at the effective implementation of forward-looking initiatives and joint development projects.
