Leaders of Uzbekistan and Iran discuss current bilateral agenda

During a telephone conversation held on April 1, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, warmly congratulated each other and the friendly peoples of both countries on the occasion of the spring holiday Navruz and the holy celebration of Ramadan Hayit – Eid al-Fitr, sincerely wishing peace, well-being, and prosperity.
The current issues related to the further development of multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Iran, based on the adopted roadmap, were thoroughly discussed.
Ongoing active contacts and visits at various levels were noted with satisfaction.
Trade and freight volumes between the two countries are increasing, along with the number of joint ventures. Regular direct flights between the capitals are in operation, and business, cultural, and humanitarian exchanges are expanding.
Particular attention was given to supporting and accelerating the implementation of cooperation projects in the chemical and petrochemical industries, the textile and food sectors, agriculture, the construction materials industry, and other areas.
The importance of effectively holding the upcoming meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission, Business Forum, and Industrial Exhibition in Tehran was emphasized.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Iran also exchanged views on international and regional issues.
